Client brief
Welkeys is an Airbnb concierge and short-term rental management company founded in 2015 by Chloé Fournier. The company supports owners in managing their properties: listing creation and optimisation, guest arrivals, cleaning, linen, maintenance, rental income and operational follow-up.
At the time of our engagement, the Airbnb concierge market was still very young. Welkeys' model relied on a platform connecting private hosts - owners or investors looking to rent their homes short-term - with independent Airbnb concierges able to handle on-the-ground operations.
The need was to build the full platform: a journey allowing clients to book their concierge online, an area for freelance concierges, mission workflows, a payment foundation and the automated communications required to run a two-sided marketplace.
Our approach
We developed the platform on a PHP CodeIgniter foundation, with a bespoke HTML / CSS front-end, structuring the experience around the two key user groups: hosts booking concierge services and independent concierges handling check-in, check-out, cleaning, linen and guest-support missions.
The product covered the essential building blocks of an operational marketplace: account creation and management, service publishing and booking, mission tracking, dedicated user areas, commission logic, status management and internal administration to run day-to-day activity.
We integrated Stripe to handle online payments and Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to automate transactional and relationship emails: confirmations, mission notifications, follow-up messages and useful communications for both hosts and concierges.
The project today
Welkeys has since evolved into a premium short- and medium-term rental concierge service, with full-service management for owners, revenue management, multi-channel distribution and high-end guest services.
The initial platform supported a foundational phase for the company: turning a market insight into a transactional tool able to coordinate owners, concierges and field operations in a sector then emerging around Airbnb.
