Client brief
Matfer Bourgeat is a 200-year-old family-owned French industrial group (founded in 1814), the world leader in equipment for professional kitchens and laboratories. Backed by 100% French manufacturing across 4 national sites, the group exports its "passion for taste" through 14 international subsidiaries.
After building its IT backbone in-house (production, inventory, administrative and financial management on IBM), the group wanted to extend its digital transformation to its sales channels and customer relations - until then driven by PDF product catalogues manually updated and emailed to every distributor and reseller. They were looking for a team able to work hand-in-hand with them, in an agile mode, to advise on prioritisation, architecture and feature scoping.
Our approach
Our engagement since 2020 has unfolded continuously, through successive missions designed to build, floor by floor, the group's entire digital stack and weave it into its broader ecosystem of distributors, resellers and end-customers. So far we have delivered:
- Digitisation of the Matfer Bourgeat product catalogue
- Conversion of the digital catalogue into an online store with a companion mobile app
- A custom-built internal CRM
- A framework that lets each distributor and reseller spin up their own online store
- A 3D product configurator so end-customers can pick every option, colour and variant before buying
Across all of these projects, our team works alongside the client's people day-to-day, ensuring continuous training and evolutive / corrective maintenance - the foundation of long-term adoption by every team.
The project today
After three years of demanding and productive exchanges, our collaboration is still active today: we advise, train and support the group on new digital initiatives that our full-stack engineering team then implements down to the last detail.
