Client brief
Prepacademy, rebranded Hupso in 2023, is an EdTech start-up focused on distance professional training for in-demand trades: 30 programmes, more than 2,000 people trained every year and a €5M / 50 employees target. It serves working professionals, career changers and job seekers through a mix of videos, virtual classrooms, case studies and quizzes.
At launch in 2017, Arnaud Gracieux was a solo founder and looking for the right technical partner to build the product from scratch.
Our approach
Our engagement followed the Bluesquare principles - Advise, Build, Entrepreneur. We started with a deep advisory phase to understand the client's mock-ups, propose a UI / UX wireframe and a visual direction, and validate together the right product to build.
Our full-stack team then built the platform end-to-end, giving learners a rich, end-to-end online training experience.
The project today
Riding the platform's quick success, we operated the infrastructure during the first months, then helped the client internalise: recruiting and training the CTO (full skill transfer) and supporting the hiring of the first developers.
The original platform is still live and now run by the in-house engineering team. In April 2023, Prepacademy became Hupso and announced a €7M raise from Educapital, Evolem and Business Angels to accelerate.
This successful internalisation enabled Hupso to keep developing its product autonomously, with an engineering team now structured in-house.
