Inside the project
Client brief
Eurazeo (Idinvest Partners team) invests in dozens of B2B and B2C European start-ups every year. Pre-investment due diligence windows are short, and the deal teams need an independent technical opinion to complement business and financial analysis.
The client was looking for a partner able to run fast technical audits (< 15 days), packaged as a clear report readable by a non-technical investment committee, and grounded in deep interviews with the target's CTO and lead developers.
Our approach
Each engagement starts with a scoping call with the deal team to align on the priority angles - architecture, scalability, security, tech debt, team and organisation - against the investment thesis.
We then work peer-to-peer with the target's technical teams: 3 to 5 working sessions with the CTO and developers, cross-referenced with a selective read of the codebase, infrastructure and backlog. These sessions are not just an audit: they are an opportunity to brainstorm with the team on the tech and strategic priorities for the post-fundraising period (roadmap, hiring, tech debt to pay down, structuring projects).
We deliver a 15 - 25 page report readable by a non-technical investment committee: snapshot of the as-is, strengths, ranked risks and a 12 - 18 month remediation plan, defended in front of the committee.
