Inside the project
Client brief
The Cercle de l'Union Interalliée was created in 1917 as a meeting place for officers and political leaders of the Entente powers during World War I, and was later kept alive as a Cercle gathering French and allied elites: political and business decision-makers, diplomats, journalists and military officials.
The intranet system used by members to pay their dues was reaching end-of-life. The Cercle reached out to us, as a trusted technical partner since a first engagement in 2020, to rebuild these features and roll out a new dedicated sub-platform for membership renewals and dues payments.
Our approach
A century-old institution, the Cercle first hired us in 2020 to audit the Drupal CMS powering their marketing site and check it was still a fit for the times.
Renewed in 2023, our engagement focused on rebuilding the membership management and payment interface. We built a custom connector to the client's internal accounting software (with very specific rules, far from off-the-shelf SaaS ERPs) to guarantee the data flow.
Mid-project, we ran into the limits of the historical payment processor and advised the client on choosing a more suitable one, then handled the migration on their behalf.
The project today
The new payment platform went live in production in January 2023 and is now used every day by the members to pay their dues.
We keep supporting the Cercle with corrective and evolutive maintenance, and remain on call as advisors when new strategic digital initiatives come up.
