Client brief
Boticinal is a French pharmacy network that brings independent pharmacies together around a catalogue of shared services, a buying group and day-to-day business support.
The client wanted to give its member pharmacists a bespoke intranet to replace the patchwork of tools they had been using. The brief covered both a "User" space for pharmacists (services catalogue, inbox, reports, documentation library) and a rich "Back-office" for the Boticinal teams (content, users and role administration).
The platform had to be responsive - and especially comfortable on tablets used at the counter - and able to evolve over time both in content terms (for the Boticinal teams) and in functional scope.
Our approach
We have rolled out our engagement in three successive phases since 2024.
1. Building the platform (2024). Brief scoping, UI / UX wireframing, a visual identity aligned with Boticinal's world, then development of the foundation: secure login and password recovery, "My account" page, multi-role admin console (Super-Admin / Admin / User) with CSV export, user management and lookup directories. On top of that, four business modules: "Services" (subscription-included and à la carte offers, detail sheets and a catalogue page), "Messaging" (individual or group communications, categorised, with homepage notifications), "Reporting" (per-pharmacy PDF / Excel document delivery with a unified folder tree), and "Documentation" (a categorised library editable from the back-office). A commercial banner managed from the back-office lets partner laboratories reach members.
2. Multi-tenancy "Boticinal 360" (late 2024). Re-architecture so Boticinal can spin up the platform for different networks, while staying autonomous on creation and administration. Each tenant is configurable: domain name, logo, colours, differentiated service access.
3. "Boticinal Laboratoire" module (2026). A new "Orders" section turning the intranet into a B2B platform: catalogue pages (manageable categories, brands, product sheets with linked documents, add-to-cart), an indexed search engine on EAN and product name with sorting / filters / suggestions, a three-step order flow (cart + per-site minimum, shipping addresses and comments, confirmation and SFTP drop-off), order history, daily catalogue sync via SFTP enriched by the Magento XML feed, manageable free-units (UG) logic, product statuses (out of stock, low stock, batch recall…), implantation packs for new customers, per-site differentiated pricing (GEN, ESP, EXP) and SELL IN analytics by point of sale, category and period.
The project today
The Boticinal intranet is live and used daily by member pharmacies and the group's central teams. The multi-tenant architecture paves the way for rolling the platform out to other networks within the group.
The "Boticinal Laboratoire" module takes the intranet into new territory, turning it into a B2B ordering hub for member pharmacies, wired up to partner laboratories through automated flows.
We continue to support Boticinal with corrective and evolutive maintenance, and on the next business iterations of the platform.
