Inside the project
Client brief
Accor is Europe's largest hotel group and the world's sixth-largest, with 5,200 hotels and 420,000 employees across 110 countries.
Within the group's HR department, our client wanted to give its "front-line" employees - the on-site teams working in hotels around the world - a dedicated platform to acquire the key competencies of their role, as part of the group's HR career-development plans.
The goal: let every employee map, self-assess and have their competencies validated by their supervisor and manager, track their progress over time and access targeted training - all in a simple, multilingual interface accessible even to staff with limited day-to-day computer access.
Our approach
We built the platform from a blank page: scoping workshops with the HR teams, sign-off of the visual identity (accelerated by our experience on the Mentoring 4 All project run with the group), UX / UI zoning and wireframes, then full-stack development on Symfony.
The platform's core relies on a nested role architecture - Super-Admin, Admin (General Manager & Talent and Culture), Manager, Supervisor and Employee - mirroring the group's organisation into hotels, departments and teams.
Around that architecture we delivered the business modules: user management (bulk import, GDPR rights, login flow), "jobs" management with a progression history, competency frameworks (category, level, technical or leadership type, logic rules to unlock higher levels), KPI dashboards, a self-assessment flow for employees and a validation flow for managers and supervisors, plus quarterly and calendar views of check-ins.
In V2 (2025) we extended the platform: a new Director role, an admin dashboard with filterable KPIs and exports, a UX / UI overhaul of the questionnaires (employee, manager and supervisor), "non-applicable" indicators, and a full Training module ("à la carte" catalogue and Academy courses, manager-pushed trainings, requests and status tracking).
An entry point from the AccorLive app and the Bluesquare Plus service suite (back-office, mailing, support / FAQ, hosting) round out the setup.
The project today
Shape Your Future is live and used by the group's directors, managers, supervisors and front-line employees around the world, in service of Accor's career-development plans.
We host and manage the platform and keep evolving it release after release (V1 in 2024, V2 in 2025…) in response to the teams' feedback and new business needs.
This project extends the relationship of trust built with Accor since 2018 and illustrates our ability to support a large group on critical, sensitive HR platforms deployed at global scale.
